Ben Nielsen, former mayor, City Council member and planning commissioner in Fountain Valley, was appointed this week to the Orange County Planning Commission by Supervisor Roger R. Stanton.
Nielsen, who will represent the 1st District, was appointed to fill the term left vacant by Michael Potts, who moved out of the area. He will serve the remainder of Potts’ three-year term.
“I have full confidence in Ben Nielsen’s ability to represent the 1st District in the best interest of all Orange County citizens,” Stanton said. “He will provide a fair and independent viewpoint on the issues facing the commission.”
Nielsen is the owner of Cambridge Furniture Co. in Gardena.
