Community Festival Outgrows Plaza Site

The first edition of an expanded Ojai Community Festival will be held downtown tonight.

Formerly limited to the Arcade Plaza, more than 40 artists and vendors will exhibit their products from 5 to 8 p.m. in Libbey Park and along the arcade itself, as well as the plaza, Chairwoman Dale Hanson said. There will also be children’s games, three live bands and plenty of food.

The festival, which began last year, is held four times a year and has outgrown its present space, Hanson said.

The event is modeled on San Luis Obispo’s successful Thursday night bash. Ventura also recently began a Thursday evening street fair.
