Memorial Held for 7-Year-Old Crash Victim
Family and friends of 7-year-old Essence Kyrara Coprich, who was killed in an Aug. 3 car accident, gathered Friday at the God Inspired Missionary Baptist Church for a candlelight memorial.
Essence, who died along with a 2-year-old cousin, was the daughter of Jeffrey Coprich, the godson of Viola McClain, an 82-year-old Watts woman allegedly slain by a 12-year-old boy.
Coprich had organized a vigil for McClain days before he took his daughter and her cousin on a trip to Las Vegas with a Watts choir group for a gospel concert.
Coprich’s family is asking for donations for burial and hospital expenses. Contributions should be sent to: Coprich Family Fund, c/o Watts United Credit Union, P.O. Box 72187, Los Angeles 90002.
