Symphony Groups to Offer Free Concert

The Chamber Orchestra of the Musik und Kunstscule) from Bruschsal, Germany, will join the Los Angeles Pierce College Symphonic Band in a special concert Tuesday night.
The German orchestra is currently in residence at Idyllwild School of Music and Arts and will visit the college to perform Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”
The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Pierce College Performing Arts Building, 6201 Winnetka Ave., and is open to the public.
The 18-member chamber orchestra will be conducted by George Meradian, a graduate of Julliard School of Music and Arts who has been a faculty member of music schools in Heilbronn and Bruschsal since 1980.
The Pierce College symphony orchestra, led by faculty member Stephen Piazza, is expected to play selections from its Fourth of July concert in Warner Center Park this year, as well as pieces from its tour in Canada last spring.
