Council OKs Decrease in Trash Pickup Fees
Just a year after raising the residential trash collection rate by 10%, the City Council has approved a decrease of nearly 6% to be implemented this fall.
The new rate will be $11.53 a month for residences, a 5.9% drop. Business rates will drop by about 9%, city officials said.
In April, the county reduced its landfill charge to $27 a ton, down from $35. That enabled Tustin and other cities to consider lowering rates, city Finance Director Ron Nault said.
