Stray Gunfire Kills Nightclub Patron
After a night of dancing, Ana Aviles and her husband walked to their car in the parking lot of Los Globos nightclub in Silver Lake early Monday, where she became yet another victim of random gunfire.
“It was just a bunch of drunks in a parking lot shooting off guns,” said Det. Jeff Anderson.
Aviles, 34, was shot in the face by an apparently drunken reveler driving away from the popular Latin nightclub at 3040 W. Sunset Blvd. shortly before the 2 a.m. closing time, Anna and Omar Aviles, the parents of two children, were leaving the club. As the couple hurried to their car, a man driving away in a red Honda fired shots that shattered his own rear window. Anna Aviles was hit in the face by a single bullet and died within minutes.
The suspect was described as a male Latino in his mid-20s with short brown hair. Anyone with information may call Anderson at (213) 207-2064.
