Museum Lands Grant for Geography Exhibit
The Fullerton Museum Center has received a $10,000 grant to help stage “Earth 2U, Exploring Geography.”
The exhibit, organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the National Geographic Society, is designed to show the relevance geography holds in everyday life, museum officials said. It is on a four-year tour of 40 cities across the country.
The museum is at 301 N. Pomona Ave. Admission is free to the public on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Adults pay $3, students pay, $2 and children younger than 12 are admitted free from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
Nissan Motor Corp. U.S.A. donated the grant for the exhibition, which will be at the center from Sept. 22 through Nov. 10.
Another $20,000 is needed, a spokesman said, and the center has launched a fund-raising effort. Information: (714) 738-6545.
