Galaxy’s Rivals Both Are Beaten

The Kansas City Wiz and Dallas Burn both lost Saturday, keeping alive the Los Angeles Galaxy’s chances of winning Major League Soccer’s Western Division title.

In Kansas City, Mo., Brian Maisonneuve scored three goals as the Columbus Crew (13-16) beat the Wiz (17-14), 5-1, in front of 12,141 at Arrowhead Stadium.

In Dallas, Darren Sawatzky and Imad Baba scored as the New England Revolution (15-14) shut out the Burn (16-13), 2-0, in front of 18,582 at the Cotton Bowl.

In a U.S. Cup game, the Rochester Rhinos upset the Tampa Bay Mutiny of the MLS, 4-3, in overtime in front of 12,428 in Rochester, N.Y.
