OUTLOOK

The Artists didn’t win any league games on the field, but they were awarded a forfeit against Estancia, which was ruled to have used an ineligible player in its 47-0 victory. Still, there’s some excitement at Laguna Beach with the arrival of Holland, who was 106-92-10 at the county’s second-smallest school, Corona del Mar. The offensive line returns three starters, and there’s a solid group of linebackers; those are good starts for a program that went 13-65-1 the previous eight years, 6-24 the previous three. Ornelas, a soccer player, and Sanico could be helpful on both sides of the ball. Holland hopes to instill confidence and a winning attitude, a good start in the rebuilding process at the county’s smallest public school.
