Occidental’s Petroleum Oil, Gas Chief Retires: David R. Martin, president and chief executive of Occidental Petroleum Oil and Gas Corp., retired after 34 years at the company. Martin joined Occidental in 1962 and was named president of its international oil and gas unit in 1983. In 1986, he was appointed executive vice president of the parent corporation, became president and chief executive of Occidental Oil and Gas Corp. in 1993 and was named to Occidental’s board of directors in 1996. Occidental’s president and senior operating officer, Dale R. Laurance, will serve on an interim basis as president and CEO of Occidental’s oil and gas unit in addition to his current duties.
