Cal State Team Wins With Vehicle Design

Mechanical engineering students at Cal State Fullerton won top honors in the design category of the recent West Coast Super Mileage Competition.

The students are Placentia residents Wael Aljasen, Charlie Cheu and Ching Lee; Fullerton residents Sultan Murad and Peter Temofonte; Tony Wang of Seal Beach; and Hanna Sarag of Riverside. They competed against four teams of engineering students from other colleges and universities.

Each team designed and built a three-wheel vehicle as part of the competition. Cal State Fullerton’s team won the design contest. The team called its vehicle a “hot little rocket.”
