Simply Sublime

People who don’t dress to impress doormen would take one look at the silver cowboy outfit from the “I Wanna Be a Rock Star Collection” and wonder, “Who wears that stuff, anyway?”

Atousa, the creator of the aforementioned and coordinator of Friday night’s “Temple of Fashion” show at the Atlas, responds: “It’s for the chosen ones who have an enlightened sense of style.”

Working under such labels as A Liquid Affair, E-poch, F-8, Nova, Sugarbaby and Venus in Fur, she and five other designers brought a parade of men’s and women’s “sublime clothing,” commencing around 1 a.m., to a packed house of L.A. nightclubbers.

“We wanted a show that was truly for the young designers from L.A. who make the club wear that is not seen coming and going,” Atousa says. “The kids are tired of wearing stuff from those huge companies. They want an alternative.”
