Democrats Blast Travel Office Report

As Democratic members boycotted the vote and walked out, the GOP-controlled House Government Reform and Oversight Committee formally accused President Clinton of directing a widespread cover-up of the 1993 White House travel office affair. In a stormy session at which lawmakers tried to outshout one another, the Democrats accused Chairman William F. Clinger Jr. (R-Pa.), of abusing his power by making a politically motivated attack.
