Simpson Jury Selection Proceeds Slowly
Lawyers slogged through another slow round of jury selection in the O.J. Simpson civil case, fighting over nearly all the 15 candidates brought into court for questioning.
Superior Court Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki dismissed several jurors for being too biased, including a man who said he was convinced that DNA evidence is foolproof and a woman who called Fred Goldman’s emotional news conferences a “sympathy ploy.” Yet the judge retained as potential jurors at least four women who said they believed Simpson was “probably guilty” of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman on June 12, 1994.
The questioning process continues today in Santa Monica.
