RU-486 Approval
I am saddened and disappointed that RU-486 is slated for approval in the U.S. (Sept. 19). Any time a mother chooses to throw away her own child a great tragedy has occurred. But for reasons spelled out below, I think RU-486 may end up galvanizing the pro-life movement rather than squelching it.
RU-486 can be prescribed by any doctor, not just abortionists, so no one will know when a woman is using it. But RU-486 is only used in the early stages of pregnancy. Late-term and midterm abortions will continue in the abortion clinics. These late abortions will now become the focus.
As more Americans realize that abortion clinics serve no purpose but to kill viable babies, opposition to mid- and late-term abortions will grow, and the pro-life movement will gain even more steam.
