Science Fair Solicits Students’ Posters

Share

Students in grades six through 12 are invited to compete in an art contest to create the winning poster for the 1997 Ventura County Science Fair.

Entries should be submitted on a 13- by 17-inch white illustration board, with a six-inch space at the bottom left blank.

The designs should also be dark-lined and use a single color--preferably black and white, contest organizers said. The artist’s signature should appear on the front.

The science fair will be held April 22-24 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The theme is “Celebrate Science,” although that need not be the title of the poster.

Any area of the physical or life sciences can be incorporated into the design, which also can be historical, futuristic or current.

Entries are due by Oct. 18 and must include the student’s name, age, address, telephone number and teacher on the back. The winning artist will receive a plaque and be honored at a ceremony April 24.

The contest is open to any full-time student in public, private or home schools in Ventura County. For more information, call Lorie Stapler at 388-4410.
