More icy prog-rock from this veteran Canadian trio isn’t quite what the pop masses are demanding in 1996, but Rush sounds chronically uninterested in following trends. Epic if mundane riffing accompanies the usual attempts at profundity. It’s as well played as ever, but after two decades, Rush remains a timeless example of thinking too much and feeling too little.
