Crew Upsets Mutiny, Ties Series

Brian McBride’s goal in the 58th minute lifted the Columbus Crew to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Mutiny in Game 2 of Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference playoff series Saturday night.

The win, in front of a Tampa Stadium crowd of 13,009, evened the best-of-three series, 1-1.

Adrian Paz’s header gave Columbus a 1-0 lead a mere 26 seconds into the match. Tampa Bay responded in the 26th minute when MLS top scorer Roy Lassiter netted his third playoff goal.

The third and deciding game in the series will be played Wednesday night at Tampa.
