A 36-year-old parolee who allegedly robbed two people on Thompson Boulevard during a Monday-morning crime spree is back in jail.

Raynard B. Hill was arrested shortly after the second robbery while running from the scene and is being held in County Jail, Ventura police said. No bail has yet been set.

Hill was arrested shortly after the 10 a.m. robbery of 63-year-old Emmett Stevens, a used-car salesman at Barber Transportation, 2186 Thompson Blvd. Police said Stevens was punched several times and knocked unconscious, and his wallet was stolen.

Hill is also suspected of stealing a cellular phone earlier in the day from motorist Bruce Thomas, 35, who was driving on Thompson Boulevard about 6:40 a.m. when he was flagged down by a woman asking for a ride.

When Thomas opened the passenger door, a man walked from behind the woman and told Thomas to stay away from her, police said. The man then demanded that Thomas give up his cellular phone or risk having his head shot off, police said. Thomas complied and then sped away.
