Top Pick Walks Out on Miffed Senators

Defenseman Chris Phillips, the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL draft, walked out of the Ottawa Senators’ training camp, apparently angry over his non-contract status. Phillips was not available for comment. . . . Rob DiMaio, a right wing who had 17 goals and 61 points last season for Philadelphia, ended up with the Boston Bruins after going to San Jose as the top pick in the waiver draft. San Jose got a fifth-round pick from Boston.
