BIG MOVE: Sunday will mark the first worship service in consolidated headquarters for the 207 members of All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 1992, St. Michael Lutheran Church in Sun Valley merged with Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Burbank to form All Saints. Until this week, the church has held activities on both church grounds. On Wednesday, the congregation moved from the Burbank site to the Sun Valley site at 8040 Glenoaks Blvd. Bethany Korean Baptist Church will lease the Burbank facilities at 2401 N. Brighton St. All Saints will have worship services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. (818) 767-7260.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: Animals great and small, along with their owners, will gather this morning at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 17114 Ventura Blvd. in Encino, for a “Blessing of the Animals.” A brief outdoor service is planned prior to the blessing to honor St. Francis of Assisi, who loved all animals. Father James Furman, rector of the parish, will supervise the event that starts at 10 a.m. Animals should be on leashes, in cages or appropriately under control. (818) 788-4486.

COUNSELORS CONFERENCE: More than 1,000 people from across the country are expected at the National Assn. of Nouthetic Counselors Annual Conference this week at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley. The organization, based in Lafayette, Ind., is a fellowship of Christian pastors and laymen that promotes and develops biblical counseling. It takes its name from the Greek word noutheteo, which means “to admonish.”

Several lectures are planned during the three-day conference starting Monday, which are free for church members or $10 per session for nonmembers. Topics include “Discernment,” “Biblical Conflict Resolution” and “Maintaining Purity in the 20th and 21st Centuries.”

There will also be daytime workshops open to those who pay the conference fee of $110 for singles or $150 for couples. Registration is planned from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the church, 13238 Roscoe Blvd. The independent conservative Protestant church hosted the annual conference in 1992. (818) 782-5920.

REGIONAL CONGRESS: The annual San Fernando Regional Congress, part of a program sponsored by the Los Angeles Catholic Archdiocese Office of Religious Education, will be held Oct. 12 at Alemany High School, 15101 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Mission Hills. The event will feature 75 workshops, including 30 in Spanish. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with opening prayer at 9 a.m. and closing liturgy at 3:45 p.m. Cost is $20 at the door. (818) 365-5123.

JUDEO-FLAMENCO MUSIC: Guitarist Adam del Monte will perform Judeo-Flamenco music at late Friday night services at Adat Ari El in North Hollywood. Born into a Judeo-Spanish family, Del Monte combines the traditional Flamenco guitar with the melodies of the Jews of Spain. The service starts at 8 p.m. at 12020 Burbank Blvd. Admission is free. QUILT DEDICATION: The Rev. Kenneth R. Johnson will conduct a special “Blessing of the Quilts” at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. The quilts, made by church women during the past year, will be on display in the sanctuary on Sunday, and later will be sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to needy people. GOSPEL CONCERTS: Several gospel music performers will be at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday. Yolanda Adams is scheduled at the park’s Golden Bear Theater at 1 and 3 p.m., followed by the Academy Cathedral Youth Choir at 5 p.m. at the Plymouth Magic Moments Theater, and Kirk Franklin and the Kurt Carr Singers at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Golden Bear Theater. Concerts are included in the price of admission to the theme park: $33 general admission, $15 for children under 48 inches tall, $19 for seniors 55 and over, and free for children under 2. PRACTICING MEDITATION: Classes and practice in meditation are held every Sunday at 10 a.m at the Thai Buddhist Temple in North Hollywood. RETREAT: Holy Spirit Retreat Center will offer a one-day retreat Thursday on “Praying Our Experiences.” Led by Father John Coleman, the day will focus on the practice of reflecting on and entering honestly into the day-to-day events of one’s life. NEW CLASS: “Understanding Modern Jewish Movements” will be the topic of a 15-week course led by Rabbi Steven Tucker beginning Tuesday at Temple Ramat Zion, 17655 Devonshire St., Northridge.
