9 Firms Honored for Environmental Efforts

Nine Ventura County companies were recognized as 1996 Waste Reduction Awards Program winners by the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The board recognized the recycling efforts of 356 companies statewide.

The WRAP award recognizes companies that develop creative and aggressive programs to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Winners receive an award certificate and free use of the WRAP logo for advertising and promotional uses. The businesses are evaluated on waste prevention, materials reuse, recycling, recycled-product procurement and employee education.

The Ventura County winners are St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (Camarillo), Procter & Gamble (Oxnard), Target (Oxnard), St. John’s Regional Medical Center (Oxnard), Whole Foods (Thousand Oaks), Amgen (Thousand Oaks), Island Printing (Ventura), Target (Ventura) and Kinko’s (Ventura).
