‘Doonesbury’

Kudos to Garry Trudeau! And to The Times for laughing off Atty. Gen. Dan Lungren’s objections and calls to not carry the comic strip (Oct. 2). That’s what Lungren should have done--laughed it off, like other pro politicians do. “Methinks the lady doth protest too much” applies here to this ingenuous political pawn of Gov. Pete Wilson.

Lungren has succeeded in bringing a lot of attention to “Doonesbury” and the voter issue Prop. 215--legalizing cannabis for medical use in cases of cancer, AIDS, etc. As I said, kudos to Trudeau!
