Public Forum Tonight for Council Candidates
A forum for City Council candidates, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 7 tonight at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, 5865 Katella Ave. Seating will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the public is invited to the free event.
All seven candidates for the City Council, who are vying for two open seats on the five-member panel, are expected to attend. The two seats are being vacated by Councilwomen Gail H. Kerry and Cecilia L. Age, who are completing their second terms and cannot run for reelection because of term limits.
Attendees will be invited to write down questions for the candidates.
The seven candidates in the Nov. 5 City Council election are Stephen T. Blount, Christen Marie Fouty, Leo Friedland, Tim Keenan, Michael McGill, Anna Piercy and Brian Sunley.
The forum will be videotaped for later broadcast on Channel 3, the city’s public-access cable channel.
