A 23-year-old woman remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Ventura County Medical Center after being involved in a four-car collision Friday near Fillmore.
Szilvia Beylik of Fillmore was pinned in her Isuzu Trooper for about 30 minutes after the 4 p.m. crash on California 126 west of Fillmore and was freed from the wreckage by Ventura County Fire Department.
Beylik suffered multiple fractures, internal injuries and cuts to her face. She was taken by helicopter to the medical center.
The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban that hit Beylik’s car head-on fled the scene on foot and was still being sought on Saturday, authorities said.
Also hospitalized was another driver, 44-year-old Lauretta Davis of Newport Beach. After being treated at the Santa Paula Memorial Hospital emergency room Friday afternoon, Davis was transferred to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.
On Saturday she was listed in good condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The fourth driver was not injured.
An investigation is continuing.
