Pests? Blight? Garden Show Has Answers
Wonder why your tomatoes shriveled on the vine or what to do about that white stuff on your kentia palm?
Get expert answers to your plant questions at the “The Doctor Is In” booth at the Los Angeles Garden Show, Oct. 23 to 27 at the Arboretum of Los Angeles County in Arcadia.
Besides 18 stylish display gardens by top designers and talks and demonstrations on a broad range of garden topics, expert gardeners like Lily Singer, editor of the Southern California Gardener, and Joel Rapp, indoor plant columnist for The Times, as well as arboretum professionals, will be on hand to answer your questions.
The show will also feature a large marketplace for plants and garden accessories, with everything from rare fruit trees and aquatic plants, to garden furniture and antique botanical prints. There will be several places to eat on the grounds, plus a gallery of garden hats, the popular Designer Tablescapes and floral displays.
The nine-acre show, sponsored by The Times and Robinsons-May, will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Tickets are $8 at the gate, $7 in advance through Ticketmaster or at the arboretum. Children 11 and younger will be admitted free.
The arboretum is just off the 210 Freeway at 301 N. Baldwin Ave. There will be plenty of parking, with a free shuttle, across the street at the Santa Anita racetrack.
