Boys and Girls Club Learns of U.S. Support
On a recent visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley, Rep. Ron Packard (R-Oceanside) announced that President Clinton had signed a bill providing $200 million in the next five years to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
The appropriation is part of a plan to stimulate growth of Boys and Girls Clubs across the nation.
“This funding represents Washington’s confidence in the work the Boys and Girls Clubs of American are doing, but it is only seed money,” Packard said. “We are expecting the private sector to match this money dollar for dollar.”
The club hopes to move into a new, larger building in San Juan Capistrano.
