QLogic Corp.: The Costa Mesa semiconductor designer and supplier said net income for the second quarter increased to a record $1.2 million, or 20 cents a share, from $214,000, or 4 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 29 rose 27% to a record $16.7 million from $13.1 million. For the first half, net income totaled $2.1 million, or 36 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $510,000, or 9 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue was up 43% to $32.5 million from $22.7 million.
