Candidates for College Board to Air Views

Irvine Valley College’s Academic Senate will sponsor a forum from 7 to 9 p.m. todayfor candidates seeking seats on the Saddleback Community College District board.

The nine candidates who are seeking four open seats will answer questions posed by a representative from the League of Women Voters. Candidates also will make opening and closing statements.

Three incumbents, Lee W. Rhoades of Laguna Beach, Steven J. Frogue of Lake Forest and John S. Williams of Mission Viejo are seeking reelection. Rhodes is being challenged in District Area 3 by Dorothy Fortune of Laguna Beach.

In District Area 6, Frogue is being challenged by Dianne Brooks of Lake Forest and in District Area 7, Williams is being challenged by Suzanne Moraes of Mission Viejo.

Newcomers Don Davis, Mark Shelly and David B. Land, all of Irvine, are seeking a seat in District Area 1. The public is invited to attend.
