Program director Tim Dagodag said about 500 students have graduated from the program, which analyzes such issues as crime, land use, environmental concerns and traffic.

“Our focus is on the solutions,” Dagodag said. “From the beginning, we were ahead of the curve; we’ve emphasized community service. And our alumni seem to follow in that path.”

Two awards will be presented tonight in memory of Bobbi Paine, a CSUN graduate and community activist who died of cancer in 1988.

The campus is at 18111 Nordhoff St. For more information, call (818) 677-2904.
