Sandy Gooch, who began the upscale Mrs. Gooch’s grocery-store chain--now Whole Foods Markets--will be one of the speakers at next week’s Career Festival at Cal State Northridge.

Panel discussions on such fields as music, sports, entertainment and entrepreneurship are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The entertainment panel will feature participants who have bought and sold screenplays.

A job fair will conclude the festival Wednesday. Adele Scheele, director of the CSUN Career Center, said more than 100 employers from around the state will attend the fair, many seeking graduating seniors and undergraduates to become interns as well as part- and full-time workers.

“Students should come prepared to interview, even with companies that they might not necessarily want to work for,” Scheele said, noting that practice can help job candidates.

The panel discussions will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, with the fair scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Panels will be held in the Office of Academic Technology television studio in the lower level of the Oviatt Library. The fair will be held in the University Student Union.

Although the events are aimed at CSUN students, nonstudents may attend, Scheele said.
