Aga Khan Foundation to Hold Fund-Raiser
The Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. is sponsoring its second annual Partnership Walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Sunday to raise money and awareness for the organization’s projects in Third World countries, said Iqbal Noor Ali, chief executive officer of the foundation’s U.S. branch.
Last year’s walk raised $500,000 for education, agriculture and health care programs in Asia and Africa.
The foundation holds similar fund-raising walks in Kenya, Portugal, Canada and the United Kingdom. Its goal is to improve the quality of life in Third World nations by promoting community-based programs, Noor Ali said.
The event, which will include family entertainment, is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
