Olympic champions Jackie Joyner-Kersee of Canoga Park...

Olympic champions Jackie Joyner-Kersee of Canoga Park and Gail Devers and Kenny Harrison of Mission Hills are among the athletes featured in Images of Excellence, an exhibit chronicling the history of track and field in the United States since the 1890s.

The exhibit will be on display at the Niketown store in Beverly Hills until Nov. 14. It includes historic photos and memorabilia such as the track spikes that Babe Didriksen wore in the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Seniors Julie Harris of Canyon High and Breanne Schweitzer of Saugus, winners of the past two Foothill League cross-country championships, will renew their rivalry at 9:15 this morning when they run in the Santa Clarita Valley Invitational at College of the Canyons. The first race starts at 8 a.m.

Water polo: At 2 p.m., Harvard-Westlake vs. Long Beach Wilson at Belmont Plaza, Long Beach.

Cross-country: At 8 a.m., Santa Clarita Valley Invitational at College of the Canyons. At 1 p.m., Village Christian in Brentwood Invitational.

Girls’ volleyball: At 8 a.m., Sylmar tournament.

College events in the region today include:

Men’s cross-country: At 9:30 a.m., Cal State Northridge and Pepperdine in San Luis Obispo Invitational at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Men’s soccer: At 11 a.m., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Cal Lutheran. At 1 p.m., Chapman at The Master’s.

Women’s volleyball: At 7:30 p.m., Christian Heritage at The Master’s.

Water polo: At noon, Pepperdine at UCLA.
