Haunted House Will Change Scene After Call From Denise Brown

The organizers of a three-story “House of Terror” Saturday agreed to modify the haunted house’s gory re-creation of Nicole Brown Simpson’s slaying following complaints from her sister.

Promoter Jeffrey Immediato said he agreed to change the “O.J. Room” after Nicole’s sister Denise Brown called Friday to object to a scene in which a blond actress sprawls on a blood-splattered sidewalk, with a feigned slit throat.

Immediato said he made the change to make Brown “more comfortable.” The display, one of 162 in the haunted house, will continue to use video footage of the June 1994 murder scene and a black actor who leaps out at customers brandishing a knife, said Immediato, who was swamped with customers Saturday night--many of them lured by the publicity over the O.J. exhibit.

Immediato had previously refused to change the room despite outrage from domestic violence prevention advocates.

The haunted house also includes a Jeffrey Dahmer room, with severed body parts spilling from a refrigerator, and a Charles Manson area, with “Die pigs die” scrawled on the walls.
