Age: 52

Occupation: Early- childhood specialist, business owner.

Background: Incumbent, appointed in 1990, elected in 1992; member, Mayor’s Task Force for Children and Youth, Mayor’s Task Force for Human Relations, Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Major issues: Developing facilites plan; measuring standards within curriculum and grade levels; supporting strategic and techology plans for the 21st Century.

Leslie Marie Lowman

Age: 46

Occupation: Teacher

Background: Site Council member for School Improvement Program at Moiola Elementary School in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach High School; Apartment Assn. of Orange County.

Major Issues: Holding parents accountable for student behavior; revising class size through creative scheduling; lengthening school day and adding teachers to staff.

Age: 52

Occupation: Podiatrist

Background: Incumbent, appointed in 1991, elected in 1992; Huntington Beach Community Services commissioner; past board member, Coastline Regional Occupation Program.
