Cypress-Based Mitsubishi Appoints Planning Executive

* Jun Asami has been appointed director of corporate planning at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. in Cypress. Asami had been working in the office of international business at Mitsubishi Motor Corp. in Japan for more than 10 years. In his new position, he is responsible for coordinating strategic product planning as well as promotional planning related to marketing, public relations and corporate relations efforts. He succeeds Tamotsu Ishihara, who was vice president of marketing services and fleet planning and is now vice president of business development and parts at Mitsubishi Motors America Inc. in Southfield, Mich.

* William F. Roach Jr. is joining Wyle Electronics in Irvine as executive vice president for world-wide marketing. He will be based at Wyle’s Santa Clara facility, where the semiconductor marketing group is located. Roach had been with Quantum Corp., a mass storage products company, for seven years, most recently as executive vice president of world-wide sales. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Intel Corp. in a variety of sales and marketing positions, the last of which was as director of worldwide distribution sales and marketing.
