Record vs. Maple Leafs--(1995-96) 1-2-1.

King update--Steady defenseman Doug Zmolek, who sat out Saturday’s game because of a thigh bruise, practiced Monday in Toronto and may play tonight. Coach Larry Robinson said he was leaning toward starting goaltender Byron Dafoe and coming back with Stephane Fiset the next night in Ottawa. Dafoe has performed well in Toronto. Last season, he faced 58 shots in a 2-2 tie at Toronto on Oct. 28, 1995. The Kings have yet to beat a team from the Western Conference, going 0-4-1.

Maple Leaf update--The Maple Leafs opened 1-5 but have responded with three consecutive victories, against San Jose, Boston and Phoenix. Largely responsible for the change are forwards Mats Sundin and Wendel Clark. But goaltender Felix Potvin is the biggest reason. Potvin is 4-4 and has a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .908.
