Trojan-Stanford Kickoff Time Assigned

The USC-Stanford game Nov. 9 at Palo Alto has been assigned a 7:15 p.m. kickoff. . . . The Notre Dame-USC game Nov. 30 is a Coliseum sellout, the fifth straight in the series to sell out in Los Angeles.

USC’s best blocker, tight end John Allred, may be out until the UCLA game because of a sprained ankle, but his backup, Jeff Diltz, turned in a memorable play Saturday.

On Brad Otton’s 29-yard scoring pass to Mike Bastianelli in the third quarter, the 250-pound Diltz took out two tacklers. He knocked Terrell Henderson skyward and that action screened off another pursuer, Duane Stewart.
