MAI Systems Corp.: The Irvine computer products designer said third-quarter profit fell to $401,000, or 4 cents a share, from $2.4 million, or 29 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 7.9% to $17.8 million from $16.5 million. Nine-month net income totaled $11.7 million, or $1.20 a share, including a $7.4-million gain from settling litigation involving MAI’s sale of its European operations. A year ago, the company earned $8 million, or 97 cents a share. Revenue dropped about 3.7% to $47.5 million from $49.3 million.
