With her bellybutton-baring outfits and applied-with-a-trowel makeup, this Australian export looks about as substantial as a lettuce sandwich. But her debut album is stuffed with meaty, creatively produced pop, from the naughty hit “Mouth” to the enigmatic “Under the Water.” Only toward the end, with a couple of blah, been-there ballads, does the record begin to sound like she looks.
