That mighty 124 yards of offense USC generated against Washington on Saturday dropped the Trojans into eighth place in the Pacific 10 Conference total-offense rankings with an average of 355 yards per game.

Cal leads with 491 yards. Stanford, USC’s foe Saturday, is in a virtual tie with Oregon State for last, 300 yards per game.

“We’re still putting together a search committee. . . . We haven’t talked to anyone about the job yet,” he said.

Riley was identified as a candidate by the Fresno Bee, which also reported that Ohio State quarterbacks coach Walt Harris is the leading candidate.
