Advanced Logic to Buy Interest in RouterWare

Advanced Logic Research Inc. agreed to acquire a stake of about 20% in RouterWare Inc., a 5-year-old Newport Beach-based data communications products company, for $2.25 million.

Irvine-based Advanced Logic said the agreement also calls for the two companies to enter into joint development projects over the next three years with a combined spending limit of $1 million. Advanced Logic, which provides high-end computer systems, has been developing a communications device using RouterWare software products for about a year.

The transaction is expected to close by Nov. 15.
