After Assault Charges, Iowa Man Kills Family

ANKENY, Iowa — A man who was charged with domestic violence a month ago fatally shot his wife and two children Tuesday in their beds and then killed himself, police said.
The dead were identified as Larry Buttz, 41, and his wife, Delane, 38, and their two children, Ryan, 15, and Lindsey, 12.
Acting Police Chief Merlin Christians said police received a 911 call about 6:15 a.m. All of the victims were found in bed.
Christians said that a month ago Buttz was charged with simple assault after his wife filed a complaint.
