Share

Kimberly Novinson, a seventh-grader at Anacapa Middle School in Ventura, won top prize for the Ventura County Transportation Commission’s fourth annual Traffic Awareness Poster Contest.

The contest was open to all Ventura County public and private schools. More than 3,500 entries were received. The theme of the contest was “A Better Way to Go,” and students were asked to illustrate ways to travel without using single-occupancy vehicles.

Kimberly’s poster included walkers, a bus filled with riders and a biker tossing a can into a recycling bin. The winning poster submission, which will be reproduced and distributed throughout the county, earned Kimberly a new computer.
