McCoy Ejected in UCLA Victory

Jelani McCoy didn’t get to play in much of it, but UCLA started its one-week exhibition season by cruising past Athletes in Action, 114-79, Tuesday night before 5,499 at Pauley Pavilion.

McCoy played only nine minutes because he was ejected from the game when he picked up his second technical foul with 6:35 remaining in the first half.

McCoy was earlier whistled for a technical for holding onto the rim after a dunk. Then, after drawing his fourth personal foul, McCoy exchanged words with AIA player Clayton Ritter, and was given his second technical for unsportsmanlike conduct.

In the second half, Kris Johnson also received a technical for unsportsmanlike conduct.

UCLA had a scary moment in the first half when senior point guard Cameron Dollar collapsed on defense and grabbed his left knee. But Dollar returned to the game in the second half.

J.R. Henderson led UCLA with 25 points.
