Laker update--Coming off an exhilarating victory at Houston, the Lakers try to complete the two-game Texas sweep at the Alamodome, where they are 1-8 all-time. Overall, the Spurs have won 14 of the last 18 meetings. Corie Blount, a key frontcourt reserve, sat out the last two games because of a bruised left thigh. There is a good chance he will play tonight.

Spur update--Highlight of the season: Monday’s game at Utah being postponed because condensation warped the court. Otherwise, it has been a disaster. David Robinson has yet to play because of a back injury and could sit out another couple of weeks. Chuck Person may sit out the season because of a back injury. Backup center Will Perdue is also out, putting Greg Anderson in the starting lineup--and making Dominique Wilkins one of three Spurs to start at power forward. He’s shooting 33.7%. The Spurs are at 39.9%, averaging 78.8 points and wondering how much worse it can get.
