Share

Medical laser producer Premier Laser Systems Inc. said it lost $973,188, or 20 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter, compared with a net loss of $1.5 million, or 34 cents a share, for the second quarter last year. Sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 increased to $1.2 million from $206,204. For the first half, the company lost $1.7 million, or 35 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $2.7 million, or 60 cents a share, for the first six months of the prior year. Sales rose to $2.4 million from $318,768. The company attributed the revenue increases to sales of laser systems to the dental market.

The company said it wrote off $287,000 in the second quarter this year, and $332,000 in the first six months for losses related to settling a joint marketing relationship with a former marketing ally.
