* The Celebrity Pro-Am Classics Golf Tour will visit Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley on Dec. 2 for a tournament to benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Dennis Quaid, Randy Quaid, Alan Thicke, Branford Marsalis, Mickey Dolenz and the Moody Blues are among the celebrities scheduled to compete in the tournament.

All proceeds benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Players, sponsors and prize donations are still needed for the Wellness Grand Slam Challenge benefit golf tournament to be held Nov. 18 at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Former Dodger catcher Rick Dempsey will host the event and several present and former major league baseball players are expected to attend. Past participants include Greg Maddux, Steve Garvey, Todd Zeile, Bob Boone and Brooks Robinson.

Proceeds benefit the Wellness Community, a nonprofit organization that provides psychological and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.
