Fitch Considers Changing Starters

In the wake of Friday night’s 107-100 loss to the Lakers, Clipper Coach Bill Fitch said he may change his starting lineup.

“I don’t know where we go from here, but we could change just about every spot we’ve got right now as far as who starts and who doesn’t,” Fitch said after the Clipper reserves outscored the starters, 53-47, in the loss to the Lakers. “[Malik] Sealy has come to the fore as our [shooting guard], but then you’ve got [Brent] Barry coming back, which is going to be a plus.”

Forward Loy Vaught, who missed 13 of 17 shots against the Lakers, has shot 21.5% in his last five games.

But Fitch isn’t concerned.

“My doctor told me not to worry,” said Fitch, who underwent an emergency triple bypass after suffering a heart attack in August.

Rookie swingman Lorenzen Wright was effective against the Lakers after centers Kevin Duckworth and Stanley Roberts got into foul trouble, making three of four shots and getting six points and three rebounds in eight minutes.
