Johnson Is Baffled by Probert Action

Winger Matt Johnson said he was surprised to see Chicago’s Bob Probert shake his stick at him instead of dropping his gloves to fight during the teams’ third-period brawl Sunday.

“There wasn’t that much said between us,” Johnson said. “I don’t know his situation nor do I totally understand his position to do what he did. But, if I guy has a stick in his hand, I’m not going to pursue a fight. I have to protect myself. Anything can happen when that happens. You can lose an eye or something.”
